What Happens If You Don’t Show Up to An Interview?
The job market is hot–and many job seekers are taking advantage of the low #unemployment and high demand for workers and “ghost” on an interview, or even a job offer. Tracy discusses how taking opportunities for granted now can negatively affect you when the economy changes.
In today’s economy with the low unemployment rate, there are many, many job openings available, more job openings than individuals seeking employment. So that means there are a lot of applicants who are taking the job search for granted. They are failing to show up for interviews. They are failing to give proper notices when leaving employment. I think at some point all of that will turn out to be negative for that individual, the job seekers. When the situation takes a turn and eventually it will, as history has it, we will end up having fewer jobs available for individuals who are seeking employment and so you want to make sure that when the economy changes, that you are in a position where your reputation is intact, where you are able to go back and have conversations with employers about possible opportunities in working with them.
