Is College Necessary to Make a Good Living?
How much can you make in a skilled trade and what skilled trade jobs are most in-demand for 2020? I would advise non-college bound students to seek a trade. There are plenty of opportunities in the electrical field, in the mechanical field. There are plenty of opportunities in the cosmetology field. There are plenty of areas where the demand is at the moment, where trade with definitely suffice for that individual and allow them to sustain and have a comfortable life.
What advice would I give college-bound students? I would give them advice to not waste time, to make sure that they are focused, that they pinpoint that area of interest for them and that they get all of the necessary education and training required for their desire level of interest as well. It’s very important for them to have a roadmap in place, to make sure that they finish their degree plans with accuracy and that they are prepared to enter the job market. I would also tell them not to be afraid to take entry-level positions to gain experience. Sometimes it’s necessary for us to take those entry-level positions that will allow us to step into the position that we really want.
